Salary Setting

Illinois statute requires that salaries for the new upcoming term must be set at least 180 days before the term begins (by Nov. 19, 2008) for all township officers. This includes single township assessors and tax collectors whose terms begin January 1 following their election. Salaries for multi-township assessors and MTAD board members must be set at least 150 days before the election (by Nov. 8, 2008).
